Item Description

This bright, metallic, showy combination specimen consists of two sharp sperrylite crystals perched on the crest, to 6 mm, on a matrix of iridescent chalcopyrite and magnetite crystals. More 2-4 mm crystals are sprinkled on either side. One of the crestal sperrylites has a dinged corner. Occasionally available in the 1990s, new sperrylite specimens are unheard of today in the Western market, as Russia has forbidden the export of strategic metals, including platinum. This fine example of this rare, crystallized platinum species is valued at $1000-1200.
