Item Description
A classic old time specimen of the famous Sodalites from the Mt Somma / Mt Vesuvius Complex in Italy. The piece hosts white / colorless Sodalite intermixed with black prismatic crystals of Ferro-hornblende. Most of the Sodalite is massive and not terribly well-crystallized, but there are a few nice crystals to be seen if you look closely. Ex Kay Robertson Collection (#6003). Kay was a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics. She nearly lived 100 years from April 1920 - March 2020. See the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record ( https://www.mineralogicalrecor... ), and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017.
