Item Description
Hackmanite is the tenebrescent variety of sodalite and is very rare world-wide. This excellent combination specimen features a sharp, 1.3 x 1.3 x 0.8 cm, glassy and translucent, lavender hackmanite crystal set atop a highly lustrous, glassy, straw-yellow Richterite crystal. Richterite is an uncommon amphibole group mineral and this find produced the best such crystals, in the late 1990s. This piece was obtained from Herb Obodda when they first came out and were being analyzed. The hackmanite is a more intense royal purple in daylight and has super orange fluorescence and also has sulfur-yellow phosphorescence. Outstanding and rare combination material from the Koksha Valley of Afghanistan.
