Item Description
Hackmanite is the sodium-rich variety of sodalite and is very rare world-wide. This excellent combination specimen is dominated by the LARGE for the species, sharp, glassy and translucent, shades of lavender, hackmanite crystal set on more hackmanite and and a bit of matrix. A yellow-orange inclusion is noted at the bottom of the crystal and is rare phlogopite. The hackmanite has ghostly white fluorescence and also has sulfur-yellow phosphorescence. The phlogopite has incredible neon-orange fluorescence and turns into a black hole after the UV is turned off. Very rare, fine and showy combination material from the Koksha Valley of Afghanistan. From the dealer stock of Herb Obodda, who brought most of this material out in the early days of its production. Value???
