Item Description

A 2.0 cm, sharp and lustrous, tabular sodalite crystal is elegantly perched atop marble matrix on this showy and excellent example of the species from finds in Afghanistan, having been stashed back. The pristine crystal has beautiful indigo-blue color and is moderately translucent. The base and two sides have been sawed to enhance the display quality. This is SODALITE, in exceptional sharpness such that they look like the lapis lazuli (lazulite) crystals found in the area, at first. The marble matrix fluoresces moderate pink-orange. Uncommon in this quality, with very little new material coming out recently, due to the conflict. Valued at $500
