Item Description
A impressive, large and sharp, 4.7 x 4.0 cm, sodalite crystal is stalwartly perched on matrix on this excellent and unusual combination specimen from the Koksha Valley and the Herb Obodda dealer stock. The lustrous sodalite is interestingly mottled, being mostly indigo-blue with large areas of creamy-white and patches of blue-green. The sodalite does not fluoresce, BUT there are other fluorescents on both the crystal and the matrix. Part of the solalite crystal fluoresces pink under LW light and much of the sparkly, granular tan matrix (richterite?) fluoresces bright yellow-green under SW light! Facinating minealogy and fine form here. Valued $1500
