Sodalite (ex Trimingham Collection)

Item Description

Here we have a rare reference specimen of royal blue Sodalite from the Bancroft area in Ontario. From mindat.org "The CN Rock Dump is comprised of material that was transported from the Golding-Keene Quarry for use in the construction of the railway that used to run through the Town of Bancroft". This piece hosts a notable "patch" of Sodalite with some slight Cancrinite in the Syenite matrix. From the collection of Bob Trimingham. The piece was purchased in 1960 from the Kessler collection.
