Item Description

Forsterite crystals are very rare from the famous deposits of the Koksha Valley. This outstanding and rare, large combination piece features a very sharp, off-white, 1.2 cm, tabular, orthorhombic, forsterite crystal jauntily set between sharp, colorful, indigo-blue, sodalite crystals. The sodalite crystals reach 1.5 cm and there are many more smaller forsterite crystals scattered and clustered on the the matrix. The contacted backside of the piece has many more sodalite crystals and a pod of sparkly pyrite microcrystals. Unusual, showy and rare combination material from the Herb Obodda dealer stock. Herb valued this fine piece at $800, five or more years ago. It is certainly worth more today.
