Item Description
There is no doubt that Swiss and French smoky quartz and pink fluorite combination specimens are a Holy Grail to Alpine collectors, so to have a quality CABINET piece come available is a true find. This is from an old Italian collection. A 3.5 x 3.2 cm cluster of lustrous, rose-red fluorite modified octahedrons is jauntily set on the side of this dramatic specimen. The large, compound fluorite crystal is 1.8 cm. Water-clear, gemmy to translucent, smoky quartz crystals are strikingly set in a jackstraw pattern on the granite matrix. The upright, gem, smoky tower is 5.8 cm and an angled, doubly terminated crystal is 5.6 cm. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only a scacttered bit of trivial bruising. There are even small smokies on the base of the piece! Classic and highly desirable combination material from the Bonisoli Collection. Seldom available in this large size with fluorite. Displays well from three sides, and again is a cabinet piece which should be considered quite uncommon. Valued at $2500-3000.
