Item Description

This is a nice display specimen from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen has no Amazonite but features a pair of very sharp, lustrous, well-formed, gemmy, rich smoky colored Quartz crystals associated with cream colored Microcline and unsually BLUE-grey colored Albite. The bluish color in the Albite is rarely seen from any locality in Colorado, or any pegmatite for that matter. This specimen was collected over 35 years ago (September of 1980) when Richard Kosnar found some of the finest color Amazonite from Colorado extant. Don't miss out on this great Colorado "classic". From the collection of Brian Kosnar.
