Item Description
The French Alps are renowned for their superb pink and red fluorite specimens, but they also produce some superb Alpine quartz specimens. This beauty is a rarity among quartz specimens as it has a "Faden" (German word for string). The water-clear, doubly terminated crystal has rich smoky color, very high luster and sharp termination faces. The "Faden" within is very easy to see, running the width of the spire near the basal termination. The doubly terminated crystal is complete all-around and very nearly pristine, with only super-trivial termination wear at the base. Excellent and uncommon smoky quartz from Mt. Blanc and the Bonisoli Collection.
