Smoky Quartz w/ phantom (RARE NV locale) ex Reynolds

A RARE and fascinating older smoky quartz crystal from somewhere by the Nevada-California border, west of the Davis Dam at Lake Mohave. This gem, sharply terminated smoky has a fabulous white layered chevron-shaped phantom inside the richly colored smoky. Striking stepped-growth accents the lustrous glass-clear prism faces, with the termination faces having satin lustre. Complete all-around and very nearly pristine. The tip has a trivial bruise and one contacted side with feldspar has just a bit of bruising. The sawed base lets it sit flat, which enhances the display quality of this rarity.
