A VERY RARE, large, smoky quartz crystal from the famous Pala Chief Mine of California. This complete all-around, CABINET crystal is water-clear, but the pristine termination faces and some of the sides are lightly frosted. Two faces reveal a STRIKING, interior phantom above the contacted base! The contacting on the sides has very minimal impact on the overall quality of this piece. This is an IMPORTANT Pala Chief smoky quartz, that was collected in the 1960s and was in the Ed Swoboda Collection. A MUST for the locality or species collector.
