Item Description

The French Alps are renowned for their superb pink and red fluorite specimens, but they also produce some superb Alpine quartz specimens. This beauty is a rarity among quartz specimens as the small, 2.0 cm, twisted gwindel lying on the front of the large central smoky crystals has a "Faden" (German word for string). All of the many smokies are water-clear, have nice smoky color, very high luster and some of the sharp termination faces are preferentially frosted. Very nearly pristine, with only super-trivial termination wear to a couple of crystals. Excellent and uncommon smoky quartz from Mt. Blanc, from the Bonisoli Collection # 6225.
