Item Description
Dramatic, high quality, 360-degree Herkimer-like smoky quartz from this Ottawa, Canada quarry, known for such quartz specimens and calcites. The intensely glassy and lustrous sharp crystals are strikingly accented with parallel-growth clay inclusions. The two prominent crystals at the crest are fantastically accented with fenster or window growth on the back side. The crystals on the upper half are pristine. Contacting lower on one side with a bit of bruising is noted and is out-of-sight in the primary display view. It is certainly only a modest detraction to this most expressive and artistic smoky quartz. Ex Lee Burnett Collection of Morrison, Colorado.
