Sculptural, uncommon and artistic combination vug in well-prepared microcline matrix from the well-known deposits at Tongbei. Tongbei is famous for spessartine garnet and smoky quartz specimens and this is a very showy, interesting and unusual example. The deep pocket is lined with gemmy smoky quartz crystals, to 3.3 cm, and bone-white microcline crystals. Pretty, rich cinnamon-orange, gemmy, spessartine crystals, to 7 mm, are richly sprinkled throughout the vug. SW UV light reveals a fine BONUS, with neon-green Hyalite Opal being present. Mass is 1050 grams or 2.3 pounds. A very unusual and showy small cabinet combination example with a preserved pocket from the noted locale.
