Smoky Quartz (self-collected in CA by Bill Moller)

Item Description

An unusually high-quality, large California smoky quartz crystal - in fact, quite "Swiss" in appearance. The termination area of the pretty light colored smoky is water-clear, with the rest of the glassy crystal being translucent. Very interestingly, the termination faces are water-clear and three of the six prism faces are preferentially lightly frosted. Complete all-around and nearly pristine, with only trivial termination edge wear and a ding on two termination faces, that is nearly out of sight on preferred display orientations. These are certainly very modest detractions to this imposing and excellent crystal, that was self-collected by Bill Moller, a noted California collector. He recently passed away.
