Item Description

A hard to find and very well-formed Smoky Quartz scepter from the famous Crystal Creek locality in Colorado. This area is well known for producing attractive Amazonite and Smoky Quartz combination specimens, but scepters like this are rare. Perhaps the most interesting aspect of the piece is the fact that the Smoky Quartz crystal is dark and gemmy, but the actual scepter is whitish-grey and nearly opaque. The piece is mostly complete all the way around, but it does have a few rough spots here and there. It stands as one of the few I have seen from this well known specimen producing locality. Sharp, attractive and worthwhile as an above average reference specimen for any Quartz collector, Colorado collector, or a fan of minerals from pegmatite localities.
