Item Description

High quality smoky quartz specimens are rare and mineral specimens of any species are uncommon from the pegmatites in this area. This is an impressive large, sharply terminated, hexagonal single crystal with light smoky color. The highly lustrous crystal is transparent to translucent with glass-clear to frosted faces. All of the prism faces have striking stepped-growth, while the termination faces are strikingly smooth. This is a rare complete all-around and essentially pristine large quartz, with only a tiny wilber on the tip. From the El Berrocal Mine, which is not listed in MINDAT. Ex Raul Sanabria Collection. A very choice and rare large single smoky quartz crystal from the locale.
