Item Description

A striking, complex smoky quartz crystal is aesthetically set in oxide-coated microcline matrix on this excellent old-time specimen from Pikes Peak. The complete all-around dark smoky has mirror-luster and is slightly translucent, when backlit. A bit of termination and termination edge wear is noted, but is mostly constrained to the back of the piece. Classic and unrepaired Pikes Peak material from the Richard Hauck Quartz Collection # 577. The form of the smoky is outstanding.
