Item Description
This is a good quality Smoky Quartz from one of the most storied and well known districts in Colorado. The pegmatites near the Lake George area of Colorado have produced what most collectors and dealers consider to be the finest Amazonite specimens from the standpoint of superb color, top quality, wonderful display specimens and excellent associations. This particular specimen is does not have any Amazonite, but features sharp, well-formed Smoky Quartz crystals with rich internal color sitting on cream colored Microcline matrix. The largest Smoky measures 2.4 cm. A good quality display piece of this famous material. Collected by Richard Kosnar circa 1975-1976.
