Smoky Quartz & Microcline (rare Idaho locale!) ex Trimingham

A dramatic and excellent large smoky quartz combination from the Sawtooth Mountains of Idaho and the Bob Trimingham Collection. A highly lustrous, sharply terminated smoky has striking stepped-growth faces and rests dramatically, with its nifty side car crystals on a sculptural jumble of sharp ivory-colored microcline crystals. The smokies are mostly opaque, but scattered areas of tranlucence are visible under bright light. The large smoky is complete all-around and in great shape, with just a bit of termination edge wear, which is certainly only a modest detraction. Smoky quartz combinations of this quality are uncommon from here and this is an exceptional example. Collected by Bart Cannon in the Summer of 1979, according to Bob's label. Value??
