Item Description

A stunning, large, smoky quartz crystal from the famous Himalaya Mine. This giant is the largest known for the locale (according to Bill Larson, who mined it while owning the Himalaya for 40 years) and was on display at the Bill Larson/Pala International office in Fallbrook for many years. The hexagonal crystal is transparent, has rich smoky color and has lightly frosted faces. It compares favorably with classic European Alpine smokies. This 360-degree crystal is surprisingly pristine. The back and base are contacted, but have no damage, per se. These faces have intense stepped-growth. 6.0 pounds or 2.7 kilos. Comes with a custom-made and engraved lucite base valued at $250, for free. Superb and rare for the locale ; and a must for the San Diego pegmatite or specie scollector. Valued at $2000-2500
