Smoky Quartz (Japan-Law Twin)

Smoky Quartz crystals from Myanmar are not terribly common, and very rarely you'll find that they form in classic "Japan"-Law twins. To be honest, we've only seen a few of these over the years. Obviously the twin habit is indicative of Quartz, but this particular style of "Japan"-Law twin is a bit more closed than most you'll see. The piece is sharp, lustrous and rather gemmy, with a medium smoky hue internally. Minor roughness can be seen on the terminations, so the piece is not 100% pristine. A nice thumbnail sized specimen for any fan of Quartz, twinned crystals or specimens from Myanmar. From the collection of Bill ("Burma Bill") Larson of Fallbrook, California.
