Smoky Quartz (GEM quality) (ex Rich Kosnar Collection)

Item Description

A beautiful, light smoky color, single prism of Quartz from the famous St Gotthard area in Switzerland. The termination of the incredibly sharp, lustrous crystal is honestly water clear, optic grade Quartz. The Swiss pride themselves on the quality of the Quartz specimens from their part of the Alps, and it's easy to see why. This particular specimen is from the famous Alpine collection of Richard Kosnar, and his hand-painted catalogue number (Qtz1094S) can be seen on the reverse side of the piece. It must be noted that the specimen is repaired, but it does not take away from the fact that the upper portion of the crystal is remarkably good quality for the material.
