Smoky Quartz (ex Willard Wulff Collection - collected Wulff)

This specimen comes from the collection of Willard W. Wulff (1904-1998) of Colorado Springs, Colorado, a prominent figure and collector of Colorado minerals. Wulff was one of the founding members of the Colorado Springs Mineralogical Society in 1936. The piece comes with a typed label from Wulff on one of his famous 3x5 index cards that states the piece was personally collected by Wulff. This is a great old display piece of featuring a good quality, sharp, well-formed, lustrous, prismatic crystal of richly colored Smoky Quartz. When backlit, the crystal shows it's nearly 100% WATER CLEAR. The piece is nearly 100% complete, (healed on the back, and contacted on the bottom). It's a significant old time specimen dating back probably around 50-60 years. An attractive specimen from this noteworthy collection.
