Item Description
A facinating, highly sculptural large combination specimen from the famous Boldut Mine at Cavnic. The plate is composed of very glassy, color-zoned, smoky quartz crystals. The terminations are water-clear, gem, have rich smoky color and there are even phantoms! Their bodies are milky-smoky. Scintillating, tan, spherical aggregates of flattened dolomite rhombs with numerous glassy, colorless, calcite rhombs, preferentially, very richly coat one side of the smokies! Complete all-around and nearly pristine. The preferred viewing side, with the dolomite dramatically cloaking and capping the smokies is pristine. The one edge with periphery wear is out-of-sight, on the back. Specimens of this large size, combination quality and aesthetics are very uncommon.
