Smoky Quartz (collected 2009)

Item Description

A rare locality specimen of Smoky Quartz from the intersection of two highways in Goochland County, Virginia. The piece features a notably sharp and rather lustrous bipyramidal crystal of Smoky Quartz forming a pseudo-scepter habit crystal on white Quartz matrix. The Smoky shows visible "window" or "Fenster" faces, and based upon the habit, could possibly have enhydro inclusions, but I couldn't see anything when I rotated it in the light. If you collect minerals of Virginia, thumbnails, locality pieces or interesting Quartz specimens, don't miss out on this one. The label states that it was collected in 2009.
