Item Description
Sharp, water-clear, smoky quartz crystals have a greenish tint due to the preferential chlorite coating on this very showy and aesthetic cluster from the first commercial mining district in South Africa. The striking, upright crystal is 2.7 cm and the flat-lying, doubly terminated crystal is 3.8 cm. Essentially pristine. There is a calcite rhomb and a barite blade hidden on the back and base. Very uncommon material from this historic locale. Ex Jaime Bird Collection. MUCH BETTER IN PERSON.
