Smoky Quartz (classic locale)

Item Description

Smoky quartz is RARE from the famous Rhone Glacier and this is a very fine and aesthetic matrix example. The limpid, lustrous sharply terminated quartz has rich smoky color. Interestingly, the prism faces are water-clear, while the complex termination faces are frosted with a coating of micro chlorite crystals. Complete all-around and nearly pristine. A couple of very tiny bruises on termination edges and the large out-of-sight contact on the back, where another crystal once lay has just a bit of bruising along one edge are noted, but have minimal impact to the overall high quality of this excellent older rarity. It displays very well, as the base has been sawed.
