Smoky Quartz and Amethyst combo crystal

Here we have a great Smoky Quartz and Amethyst specimen from a recent find in Hallelujah Junction in California. I obtained this specimen directly from the miner who collected it. It actually has very good form and color, for any locality, but is especially attractive for a U.S. piece. This specimen consists of a large, sharp, lustrous, well formed, partially skeletal, defined smoky and purple "Amethyst" bi color zoning. The indentation on the front side of the piece is NOT damage, it's all crystallized, but it does have some roughness on the back. This area that is being worked is brand new and has the potential to produce some very impressive specimens. Valued at $850.
