Item Description

This specimens from this locality are some of the most iconic Quartzes from all of North America. It is very difficult to find a good New Mexico Smoky specimen these days, let alone a pair of good sharp lustrous gemmy crystals. This attractive specimen features two fine quality prisms with excellent luster and color, which grade from a rich smoky hue to nearly colorless at the terminations. As far as condition goes, it's nearly perfect, and very aesthetic as you can tell. It is also rather gemmy, as are the best Smokies from the area. This locality is now closed to collectors by federal law and good ones are few and far between. This piece dates back to the 1960s-1970s.
