Gorgeous cluster of gemmy, Smoky Quartz crystals set on a matrix of white Quartz and Smoky Quartz, wityh some of these gems doubly-terminated. There razor sharp Smokies grow up to 4 cm in length and 4 cm wide, making many of them look dipyramidal. The luster and gemminess are excellent, and many of the crystal edges are highlighted by a deeper smoke. This make the crystals stand out like crazy. The aesthetics are terrific because of that and the luster. Naturally, the hard-rock mining of Quartz is hard business, so there is a little bit of dinging away from the presentation side, though the crystals are so glassy that even the dings are hard to spot in the overall flashiness of the piece. An impressive specimen in both quality and size.
