Item Description
Three neighboring peaks, including the Riefenhorn, overlook the Tiefen glacier in Switzerland. Over the centuries, literally, there have been three famous discoveries of very significant Smoky Quartz. These were in 1868 ('morion'- black Smokies), 1946 (gemmy Smokies), and 2015 (Smokies with a Chlorite dusting). This singularly stout, large-cabinet cluster dates back to earlier times, and you really have to try to hold this in your hands to believe it. While you may think that the sheer size conquers all, the more you gaze into it, the more entralled you will be of the deep dark smoky color and the gemminess. This specimen is both historic and aesthetic, not at all lacking in the 'wow' factor. Impressive. Very impressive large cluster of classic Swiss Smoky!
