Item Description
Lustrous, translucent, spherical aggregates and single crystals of tan to brown to gray, smithsonite rhombs attractively cover the vuggy front of the hefty, massive sulfide matrix on this rich and showy older piece from Tsumeb. The striking tan crystal in the center is 1.5 cm across. There are more smithsonites on the back plus fluorescent orange calcite microcrystals. Rich and choice older smithsonite from the Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired at Grieger's in Pasadena in 1978. Valued at $500-700.
