Berg Aukas smithsonites compare with the best from anywhere at the top of their game, when seen, and this is a very fine and surprising minature. A fabulous, large, 2.8 cm on the diagonal, honey-golden-amber rhomb is aesthetically set on matrix. The luster and translucency are excellent. The surprise is another, even larger rhomb on the back! This one is set upside-down to the crystal on the front and does have a bruised edge. These were mined in the 1960s-1970s, as the mine closed in 1978. They are VERY rare on the market today.
