Item Description
Monheimite is the rare Fe-bearing variety of smithsonite. Mineral specimens from the former, obscure copper-zinc Antler Mine of Mohave County, Arizona are very uncommon and very rarely available. This striking and perhaps unique pseudomorph is composed solidy of bubby, botryoidal, translucent, honey-brown, tiny monheimite blades in an apparent boxwork fabric. The boxwork is actually the replaced walls of large calcite rhombs. Striking, large pseudos of monheimite after blocky calcite rhombs to 1.8 cm are readily visible. The broken faces reveal, that many of the calcite pseudos are hollow. EXTREMELY RARE Arizona pseudomorph material for the locality or species collector. From a major rarities collection. Value??
