Item Description
A miniature sized cluster of intense green Cuprian Smithsonite from Tsumeb sporting a lime-green color rather than the usual mint-green. These crystals are translucent to nearly transparent, very well-formed, slightly flattened rhombs that exhibit a nearly opaque, cream colored areas around a portion of their exterior at the edges. This scaly mineral at the edges is Calcite and has formed as a later, cream colored, preferential growth on some of the green Smithsonite crystal edges that provides nice contrast. An interesting and unique Tsumeb Cuprian Smithsonite. Green crystals are the rarest varietal color of smithsonite, and Tsumeb is particularly noted for them. This is a stunning piece and a strong miniature with style.
