Item Description
A classic piece from the ancient Hilarion Mine in Lavrion, Greece featuring a vug containing gorgeous soft blue colored spherical Smithsonite aggregates on oxidized matrix. The Smithsonite gets its blue color from copper content. Most of the spheres are undamaged, though there is one contacted spot that I can see, so they're not all pristine. Specimens from Lavrion are some of the most well-known old time classics from any European locality, as mining has taken place dating back to the Bronze Age.
