Item Description
A lovely display specimen from the ancient Hilarion Mine in Lavrion, Greece featuring soft blue semi-spherical and somewhat "rice grain"-shaped aggregates of Smithsonite measuring up to 4 mm on oxidized matrix. The Smithsonite is copper-bearing which is what causes the blue color. The piece is best viewed under magnification, and we've photographed it with a Canon MP-E 65 mm macro lens to better illustrate the quality.
