Item Description

Bubbly botryoids of translucent, lemon-yellow, smithsonite with a satiny luster cover the matrix of this rich and showy plate from this noted locale. Lemon-yellow is an uncommon varietal from this essentially mined out locale, that was documented in a 2011 Mineralogical Record Special Issue. Over half of the back is also covered with smithsonite. Probably older material.
