Item Description

Juicy, bubbly, botryoidal, tranlucent, layered, lavender and lilac smithsonite forms an impressive larger specimen from the El Refugio Mine at Choix, Mexico. Old - 1960s or 1970s vintage. The bit of contacting is certainly a modest detraction. Excellent and classic material from this essentially mined out locale, that was documented in a 2011 Mineralogical Record Special Issue. Ex Bob Trimingham Collection and acquired in 1974. BETTER IN PERSON!
