Item Description
An old-time, perhaps unique style of multi-generational smithsonite from famed Tsumeb. Five generations of smithsonite, including pseudomorphs, compose this dramatic and colorful large 3-dimensional specimen. The highlight is the 5th generation of striking luscious mint-green, cuprian smithsonite that has pseudomorphed a fantastically sculptural cluster of what appears to be reticulated cerussite crystals (originally labeled and thought to be Azurite). 4th generation drusy gray smithsonite richly and preferentially covers the mounded bubbly botryoids of 3rd generation olive-green dogtooth smithsonite crystals. A thin 2nd generation layer of bone-white smithsonite is visible on some of the sides and overlies the massive, granular 1st generation mint-green cuprian smithsonite. This most impressive large smithsonite is probably old-time material from the Upper Oxidized Zone. Very hefty and rich zinc ore at 1231 grams or 2.7 pounds mass. An amazing and important 360-degree Tsumeb smithsonite. Valued at $2500.
