Item Description
Choix, Mexico is the source of some of the most intensely colored Smithsonite specimens you'll find from any locality. Although Smithsonite is found in a wide variety of colors, the majority of speicmens tend to have more of a pastel hue to them. The best Choix specimens are on the far saturated end of the spectrum, showing some of the strongest colors you'll see for the species. This cabinet specimen features fantastic, translucent, / gemmy, resinous, beautiful intense blue colored, botryoidal aggregates of Smithsonite on matrix. It hails from the famous production in the late 1990s, and has a saturation that is almost impossible to believe. A wonderful example from this famous and now classic locality. Beautiful color and fine quality, and great piece for any fan of worldwide Smithsonites or minerals of Mexico. Ex Brian Kosnar specimen, valued at $3,000 retail.
