This richly saturated, deep blue-green example is one of the most intense and color saturated examples of the famous production here in the late 1990s, and has a saturation that is almost impossible to believe. It has an almost glacial quality to it, with chatoyancy and shimmering luster on the rolling surface. Tiny pale-blue accents, some as surface features and some completely included in the larger botryoidal smithsonite crystals, add interest and complexity. A wonderful example from this famous and now classic locality. The smithsonite finds from Choix, Mexico are among the best of the species, and produced a wide array of smithsonite specimens of other colors, ranging from yellows to pinks.
