Item Description
An excellent 2-piece smithsonite deal from this less well-known mine, near the famous Kelly Mine. Tiny, classic light gray-blue pointed rice-grain smithsonites richly and attractively cover both of the sculptural gossan matrixes. Ex Kay Robertson Collection # 714 and acquired from fellow California collector Marion Godshaw in the 1950s. Kay is a prominent California collector, who specialized in European classics (see the article in the March-April, 2007 Mineralogical Record and the 50+ page article in the German Magazine "Mineralien Welt" November-December 2017). Smithsonite specimens are rare from the Juanita Mine and these are very fine and uncommon examples of the varietal, species and locality.
