Item Description
Smithsonite is a popular mineral to collectors and there are many localities that produce different styles. But this one is very special, from a Chinese iron mine which was famous for the “butterfly twin” calcites in the late 1990s. It is made of two cute, lustrous smithsonite balls which measure 1.3 cm. A significant Chinese locality specimen for smithsonite, and a cute thumbnail from the Jingnan (Tom) Zhang collection, purchased in China long ago.
