Item Description
Smithsonite is one of the signature species from the great Tsumeb Mine, and among those, Smithsonites of this particular habit are rare and highly sought-after. Too often the Smithsonites with this long, slender, and tapered habit are only broken singles on matrix, but this wonderful cluster has numerous lustrous and gemmy crystals up to 2.1 cm. The color is a very pleasing peach, and this cluster of glassy to satin crystals sits beautifully on matrix, making this an exceptional small miniature. This elongated scalenohedron style is very rare. ex George Elling Collection.
