Item Description

A beautiful full-sized cabinet display specimen of this iconic material featuring scintillating dark golden-yellow or dark straw colored Smithsonite which has pseudomorphed a large cluster of sharp dogtooth Calcite scalenohedrons on this replacement from this famous Santa Eulalia Mine. The largest individual pseudomorph measures 2.6 cm long. The exposed underside of the piece reveals that these are Smithsonite partially hollow "casts" (epimorphs or perimorphs), with open interiors visible. Older classic material from the 1999-2000 finds. An exceptional large and classic specimen of this uncommon style. Valued $2,000.
From the collection of Dave Stoudt.
