A RARE, rich and aesthetic pseudomorph from the less well-known Graphic Mine, near the famous Kelly Mine. Sparkly off-white smithsonite micro rhombs have replaced sharp calcite rhombs, that fill the very sculptural lightweight matrix crust. The back, with numerous hollow epimorphs (casts) of dissolved crystals adds even more character. Mineral specimens are RARE from this mine compared to the Kelly and such a pseudomorph of smithsonite after calcite is EXTREMELY RARE. Choice material from the Chris Cowan New Mexico Collection.
